There is a New Bicycle Law in New York City, effective December 11 that requires office buildings to permit bikes on freight elevators and to safely store them.

If your building is not equipped, the company you work for will need to file a “Bicycle Access Plan” with the landlord.

These forms are available with the Department of Transportation; call 311 and request a (BAP).

Some essential gears to bring to work:

Can’t ride a bike in NYC without:

RIDE THE CITYa a web site that allows you to type in your start and stop points into the map and the result, you get the safest, less safe but shorter ride.

It will also give you bike shops along the way just in case.

yoga sutra 1 “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great, and wonderful world. Dormant forces, faculties and talents become alive & you discover yo…urself to be a greater person by far than you ever dreamed yourself to be.”- Patanjali,Yoga Sutras

  • So’ham (I am That.)

So’ham is the simplest of all mantras.  They mean “I am That,” with “That” referring to the Divine.  So’ham is a simple breath mantra.  Repeat to your self “so” on the outbreath, and then “hum” on the inbreath.  With each outbreath you may be conscious of the act of giving and letting go.  With each inbreath you may be aware of receiving, of honoring the Self in this moment.

This mantra is perfect to use in meditation or in Savasana.  Synchronize the repetition of the mantra with Ujjayi Pranayama to realize powerful results over time.
