Why we do what we do, and how we can do it better
There are 6 needs -
1. Certainty -
2. Uncertainty – Variety
3. Need to feel significant – Need to be Unique and Different
4. Connection and Love
These are the needs of the personality the next 2 are the needs of the Spirit
5. You must grow – Something to give of value
6. To contribute beyond ourselves
What are you going to focus on?
Explore your mind, your thoughts, beliefs and emotions that controll you so that you can appreciate what is driving other people.
All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change
you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for external reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration. You may succeed in making another feel guilty about something by blaming him, but you won’t succeed in changing whatever it
is about you that is making you unhappy. – Dr. Wayne Dyer
How can we free ourselves from the past and the future? It is all very simple! With a lucid, all-encompassing Attention, we will watch every reaction of the mind, without pursuing any purpose or goal. Everything we encounter in such manner disappears and, in the void which appears spontaneously, an unlimited energy is available at our fingertips and we are able to understand the absolute Reality through a direct experience.
In this state, we acquire a great sensitivity and everything that life brings forth in its natural flow is being regarded and appreciated with love and kindness.
Man is truly wise only when, detached from his selfish “self”, is united with Infinity through non-action and an aware passiveness of the mind.
This mysterious encounter is accompanied by simplicity. Once the past has disappeared, we are integrated in the now and, with a clear and lucid mind, we watch everything that comes as constant freshness from one moment to the other. Ilie Cioara
I came across a blog that listed Gandhi’s Top 10 Fundamentals for Changing the World.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”
“As human beings, our greatness lies not so much in being able to remake the world – that is the myth of the atomic age – as in being able to remake ourselves.”
“Nobody can hurt me without my permission.”
“The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong.”
“An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind.”
“An ounce of practice is worth more than tons of preaching.”
5. The present moment.
“I do not want to foresee the future. I am concerned with taking care of the present. God has given me no control over the moment following.”
6. Everyone is human.
“I claim to be a simple individual liable to err like any other fellow mortal. I own, however, that I have humility enough to confess my errors and to retrace my steps.”
“It is unwise to be too sure of one’s own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.”
“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
“I look only to the good qualities of men. Not being faultless myself, I won’t presume to probe into the faults of others.”
“I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people.”
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony.”
“Always aim at complete harmony of thought and word and deed. Always aim at purifying your thoughts and everything will be well.”
“Constant development is the law of life, and a man who always tries to maintain his dogmas in order to appear consistent drives himself into a false position.”

´*.¸.•´♥ “Letting go doesn’t mean we don’t care. Letting go doesn’t mean we shut down.
Letting go means we stop trying to force outcomes and make people behave.
It means we give up resistance to the way things are, for the moment.
It means we stop trying to do the impossible–controlling that which we cannot–and instead, focus on what is possible–which usually means
taking care of ourselves. And we do this in gentleness, kindness, and love, as much as possible.”
~ Melody Beattie

In order to live rich and meaningful lives, we must learn to undergo the necessary losses of life. We must move forward even when we are afraid, embracing the very losses that we have been trying to avoid. For that is how we will transform our disappointments, our soul, a growing in compassion, a leveling of false pride. These are the experiences that have the capacity to help us expand our ability to give and receive love.
There is a Chinese proverb that I find very beautiful.
My barn having burned to the ground, I can now see the moon.
